WhatsApp to stop working on these smartphones, check if yours is on the list

NEW DELHI: Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has announced that it will stop working on some smartphones from November 1. If you are using an old Android phone or an iPhone then you may need to worry about WhatsApp support.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp has confirmed that it will stop supporting phones that are not running Android OS 4.1 and above and iOS 10 and above. According to a report by Metro News, the following smartphones will not support WhatsApp from November 1.

Apple iPhone SE, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus
Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Ace 2.
LG
LG Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus F5, Optimus L5, Optimus L5 II, Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L3 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7 II Dual, Optimus L7 II, Optimus F6, Enact, Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F3, Optimus L4 II, Optimus L2 II, Optimus Nitro HD and 4X HD, Optimus F3Q
ZTE

However, JioPhone users will not have to worry about WhatsApp support. WhatsApp has clarified that “select phones running KaiOS 2.5.1 newer, including the JioPhone and JioPhone 2” will continue to support the chat app.
